How to connect the "Documents" module

You do not need to connect anything, this module is available for free at all tariffs.

Text editor

Headings, quotes, lists - the "Documents" module has all the usual tools for formatting text.

Upload images and videos

Any images can be inserted into the document. To do this, click on the purple plus button and select the desired item from the drop-down menu.

To resize the image, right-click on the image and select the appropriate size.

Videos from video hosting sites are displayed as previews, i.e. they can be viewed directly in the document.

To resize the video preview window, click on the button with three dots in the upper right corner of the video and select the appropriate size.

If you want a document from Google Docs to be viewable directly in documents in Kaiten, insert it as a preview. To do this, click on the purple plus button and select the desired item from the drop-down menu.

To resize the window with the preview of the document, click on the button with three dots in the upper right corner of the video and select the appropriate size.

Table constructor

To create a table, click on the purple plus button and select "Table" from the drop-down menu.

Alternatively, you can simply copy and paste a spreadsheet from Excel or Google Sheets.

To change the width of the columns, move the cursor over the border of the column, hold down and drag to the right or to the left. To add or remove table elements, click on a cell, click on the button with three dots and select the desired menu item.

Access settings for Kaiten users

Access can be configured for each folder and document, for this you need to click on the "Access" button in the right corner of the screen. Then choose who can view this document or folder.

If you select the "Everyone in the company" option, the document or folder is visible to all active users in the company, regardless of access to spaces.

If you select the "Only invited users" option, no one will see the document or folder until you add members yourself. For each added participant, you can configure its role: administrator, editor, reader.

Access for those who do not use Kaiten

Would you like to show a document to a person who does not work in Kaiten? Make the document public. Click the Share button in the upper right corner of the document and toggle the "Share to the web" toggle switch.

Co-editing documents in Kaiten

Now any documents can be edited by several participants at the same time.
